CURATED by Mickys art
Choreographing art, furniture and design | Curating mood, style and aestheticsBridging art curatorship with Interior Design thinking; a central consideration engrained in every project
Our Curator and creative team work backwards from the space the piece/s will be displayed in, pinpointing an aesthetic and identifying art, bespoke furniture pieces and lighting that enhance the current look and feel.
Selections are made from our emerging talent program and pool of 40 artists and designers internationally. We source on a project basis or work collaboratively between the artist and the client to facilitate unique, made-to-measure commissioned pieces.
We roadmap gaps in the clients collection; creating contemporary ways to light, frame and display the pieces to elevate the investment. CURATED by Mickys art services from the conceptual through to professional display.

MIAZ BROTHERS
pushing the limits of perception and interpretation8th August, 2022
Born in Milan and living and working out of Valencia, sibling duo Roberto and Renato Miaz, (Miaz brothers), use layers of aerosol paint to create large-format canvases that appear out of focus. Challenging traditional notions of portraiture, the hazy renderings push the limits of perception and interpretation. “Unlike photography,” the artists state, “where you can always extract the reality of a face… the painting is inexorable, that face will be invisible for all eternity.”
Their first exhibition was in 1996, at the Viafarini Gallery in Milan, sparking a series of new experiments in unconventional venues such as nightclubs and music events. Since then, the brothers have collaborated with an array of iconic brands, including Nike and Swatch watches, exhibited on international grounds, and won prestiges awards such as the 5th Arte Laguna Awards in 2011 and the Amposta Museum of Contemporary Art International Biennial Prize in 2010.

IAN RAYER SMITH: AN ODE TO PAINTING
LAYERING INFLUENCES FROM ART HISTORY, CONTEMPORARY CULTURE AND THE ARTIST'S OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCEManchester-based artist, Ian Rayer-Smith, layers influences from art history, contemporary culture and his own personal experience to create his gestural and expressive paintings. Channeling the raw energy of the Post-War Abstract Expressionists while exploring a more classical sense of light, movement and composition reminiscent of the Renaissance painters, Rayer-Smith’s works are an ode to the painting medium, and its many iterations.

Despite a later start to his career - taking the leap from businessman to full time artist at the age of 36 - Rather-Smith’s commitment to his practice is unmatched. In constant search of something he hopes he never finds, the artist sees his work as an exploration of the purpose of painting itself... -
