Have you heard the term “the artist is present?”. Well, Mic Porter really is, live and direct from inside the Mickys art Richmond gallery space.
Mickys art have long heralded the career of Mic Porter, working closely with the elusive artist to bring his work to the fore, since the days Porter first exhibited in a physical space. Porter’s genesis lies in the local street art scene, where he was prolific and aloof, operating in the shadows of the art world, but the eyes of the public.
Fast-forward and Porter continues his journey from street artist to contemporary pioneer, working as a multi-dimensional artist, not bound by space, medium or industry forces. Mickys art still has close ties with the artist, and the most recent point of collaboration saw Porter occupy the Mickys art space in Richmond, working exclusively from inside the premises.
This tenure at the gallery has given rise to a trio of large-scale works, featuring his signature figurative abstractions. In the true essence of the rogue artist, Porter remains shrouded in mystery, yet his work has taken on a platform beyond the man behind it.
These 3 current works are new and limited to Mickys art as part of the exclusive residency series, and are available for viewing strictly by private appointment only.
