Mickys art supports artists from ideation through experimentation to the wall.
Artists in residence spend time with our curator and creative team to roadmap bodies of work for exhibition, help break barriers and explore new ideas, mediums / techniques.
Our residency program enables artists to work at scale and paint pieces for clients on the walls of the gallery or in curated spaces.
The program builds communications around their practice and connectivity to collectors, creating consistency in their profession.
The success of this process is exemplified through our most recent Residency with Melbourne-based artist, Billie Morris. Working between her studio and the gallery, the self-taught artist’s new body of work is a direct response to new influences and environments.
Billie’s time at the gallery has encouraged her to paint at an unprecedented scale, and explore innovative processes within her practice.
The luxuriously textured canvases and commanding female forms of her recent works have garnered attention from Australian art collectors and first time buyers.
